In a quite memorable night, BNI, it's leadership, Dropbears, J3B, Brave Dojo volunteers, and a few hundred bros made sure to start off the BNI Birthday bash by having a bunch of newbros blow each other up in a wormhole brawl in atrons. I personally took part, and was quickly mobbed by 4 bros. Glorious deaths were had by all. Big shout out to Kira and the rest of the volunteers for a quite hilarious fight. Complete with 150 newbros getting stabbed in the back by a group of neutrals. (Thanks Blue-Fire) The thread can be found here on Reddit. Heck, even the journey to the wormhole was filled with excitement as Corebloodbrothers, FC for ProviBloc committed to scaring us with gatecamps, leading to the creation of "THANK YOU CORE/COREY/CORPS/whaetever-the-fuck" spam the likes of which New Eden has never seen.
Shout out to the winner. . .Wujastic

My idea for SOV revamps
We all know that CCP has long had a history of having difficulty working with the EVE codebase. Being that said codebase is hideously out of sorts, it's becoming more difficult for CCP to make the kind of sweeping changes that are desperately needed to reinvigorate the playerbase.

The Goblin Strikes Again
Gevlon Goblin published a short piece on EN24 today. And the intent there, and the message was on point, but it seems dear Gevlon let the opinion of himself go to his head. He seems to think his message of blatant hatred for the GSF, and barely contained contempt for "less skilled" EVE players is somehow not obvious.

Chinese server ship skins
It seems the chinese server are getting some treats for their new year celebration. In case you didn’t know, the chinese new year is actually celebrated on the 19th of February and each year is named after an animal in the chinese zodiac, so 2014 was the Year of the Horse, 2015 will be the Year of the Goat/Sheep
If you would like to know more about the chinese years of the Zodiac, then feel free to have a look at this website.
Anyway, the ship skins look like they will be exclusive to the chinese server for now. So lets have a look at them.
Machariel sporting a black and silver paintjob with blue trim items.
Ishtar (or Vexor as it is missing the engine mountings) in a white and black paint job with gold trim.
Rattlesnake in a red and grey paint job with light grey decals.
Abaddon which looks amazing in a white and black paint job with loads of gold trim.
Megathron in a matt black paint job with a gold trim. Nice looking ship and definitely my favorite of the skins that have been shown here.
Armageddon in matt black with a light blue tribal type patterning.
Raven in gold with white trim, very bling.
Eagle in a matt black paint job with gold trim.
Apocalypse in lots and LOTS of white with some gold and black trim… looks like an ambulance in my opinion and is my least favorite skin.
Drake in a black paint job with two tone gold trim. Another one of my favorites.
Dominix in a flat black paintjob with gold and silver trim.
Big thanks to AredditorAMA from R/Eve for the links.

RvB fleet event draws in over 300 pilots into massive fight in 9UY4-H and Y-MPWL
A major battle in 9UY4-H involved more than 300 pilots as a part of the RvB event in the system.
Provi camped the gate in a armor T3 fleet with T2 Logi support. As soon as the HERO Eagle fleet (supported by a bomber and ewar fleet) jumped into system provi brought in triage. HERO took heavy logi losses and had to reposition. As soon as HERO warped off rvb ganked entered the field with an arty abaddon fleet supported by T2 logi.

CSM 9: Winter Summit - Day 3 Recap
So with Day 3 all wrapped up and the notes now available, the CSM’s time in Iceland for the Winter Summit now comes to a close. For me, this day has been the one I’ve been most interested in. However, the topics I really wanted to hear more about are censored by the NDA (Non Disclosure Agreement). Some of the points covered here will create some fantastic tin-foil-hattery at least.

Chremoas Down in Metropolis
Today, a Chremoas piloted by l0rd carlos died in metropolis to the hands off Delamath93.
Lord Carlos wrote a statement on Reddit, which you can find here, saying that he noticed a Harbinger smart bombing pods in Resbroko. This Harbinger had Warp Core Stabilizers fitted, giving him a bigger chance to escape when being tackled. Lord Carlos decided that he wanted to kill this Harbinger anyway, and so he fitted an extra Warp Scrambler on his loyal Chremoas. He then undocked, cloaked and warped over to the Harbinger’s location. However, just as he decloaked the Harbinger warped out to safety. Lord Carlos choose to get back to the station and log off because downtime was near.
After waiting for downtime to finish, he logged back on and he saw the Harbinger sitting on its spot again. He quickly warped over and tackled the Harbinger, but the pilot of the Harbinger, Delamath93 was prepared as he had a full combat fit ready. This new fit meant that the Chremoas stood no chance, and moments later it exploded in a blaze of glory.

CFC & RUS Clash With N3 in A-CJGE
Around 1800 eve time on the 18th January 2015 a fight was sparked between members of the Russian Stainwagon and the N3 Coalition alliances.
The fight started with Nulli Secunda and Stainwagon having a throw down as the Russian alliances try to gain space in the Esoteria region of Null Sec space. Nulli Secunda were responding to the fact that the Russian alliances had reinforced two of their R64 towers in A-CJGE. To defend these towers, Nulli Secunda formed up a fleet of Rattlesnakes with Scimitar and tackle support and Chimera carriers on standby. Other N3 alliances also formed in support of the Nulli Secunda fleet, the Darkness/Kadeshi formed up in their Ishtar fleet with assorted support wings of tackle and logistics.

o7 Show Episode 4
CCP Guard and CCP Mimic interviewed four EVE Online developers about upcoming features, such as the ‘Super Kerr-Induced Nanocoating´s” (SKIN´s) system for ship exteriors, and improvements and re-designs of the corporation and alliance infrastructure in EVE.
We went behind the scenes of Virtual World Operations, the team responsible for running Tranquility, the server cluster behind the world’s biggest and most complex single shard universe (yep, it’s EVE).
We also spoke with players involved in cool community projects and had Game Designer CCP Rise fit a ship live, and take it into one of EVE’s most dangerous low security systems to fight for his life. We also got a first look at a concept drawing of the much-awaited Minmatar Tactical Destroyer.

o7 Show Highlights
A few hours ago, the latest episode of CCP’s o7 live show aired. While nothing earth-shattering was announced, there were a few things worth noting. The biggest among these are the upcoming changes to corp management within EVE. The bombshell hit when CCP Punkturis mentioned that CCP intends to add an option for corps to toggle whether friendly fire without CONCORD intervention will be allowed within the corp. This seems to spell an end for AWOXing that relied on these corpmate-versus-corpmate attacks always being allowed. The first of these changes, mostly “little things” fixes, are coming in February.
The next interesting thing involved changes to the ship skinning system. The current system involves using blueprints bought from the in-game store to transform an existing ship into another ship model entirely. Once the skinned ship is destroyed, you would need another blueprint to get new ship with your favorite skin. CCP intends to change this system so that a skin is purchased as a license, allowing the license owner to skin the appropriate ship repeatedly and instantly without blueprints. In theory, a player could switch between the skins they own on the fly, all through options in the fitting window. This will allow players in wormhole space to use ship skins and allow skin changing while undocked. There was no specific release date associated with this change.
Lastly, CCP announced that the Minmatar Tactical Destroyer would be coming in the February update. No statistics for the ship were given, though they did show a concept sketch of the ship.

The boredom of nullsec and SOV warfare
The game of SOV warfare has always been a tedious one for EVE players. Even the ones that enjoy it see it as a mostly boring affair with little action, or fun. "peace time", as it can be described in EVE is simply the lack of a serious threat to one's SOV. And it would seem that BRAVE, having now been temporarily relieved of constant Pandemic Legion assaults, has once again fallen into the cyclical nature of SOV

War in Cache heats up as PL caps move in
xXDEATHXx appears to have struggled over the last few days in their war against the Meow Coalition consisting of The Gorgon Empire, Red Alliance and Dream Fleet, all being allied with SOLAR. Trading system back and forth between these entities.
As the Meow Coalition spreads almost effortlessly across the former N3 regions of Scalding Pass and Insmother, SOLAR set it's sights on xXDEATHXx in Cache. As xXDEATHXx looked to be ready to strand alone, they received shows of support from both Total Absolution and N3.

IWISK and The EVE community just did something awesome
Coming off the controversy with the eve_nt and IWANTISK Titan Smash, it seems that the EVE community has put aside it's BS for just a moment to do something really cool. That is, they came together to help a fellow capsuleer go to Fan Fest this year after he was diagnosed with terminal cancer. There are no words to describe how cool this is.

HERO Stands Against PL Once Again
Catch continues to burn, following on from HERO’s defeat at V-3YG7 where the station was put into its first timer, HERO have been attempting to slow Pandemic Legion (PL) attempts to take the systems of MB-NKE, HED-GP, ZXIC-7, WQH-4K, 2J-WJY, U-QVWD and of course V-3YG7. Since the last battle at V-3YG7, PL has managed to capture the system of U-QVWD, but has HERO successfully managed to destroy the Sovereignty Blockade Units (SBUs) in WQH-4K, 2J-WJY and MB-NKE which left the systems of V-3YG7, HED-GP, and ZXIC-7 under contention.
3 days since the start of the renewed hostilities between the groups the first timer in HED-GP came out last night at 23:15 and this hotly contested system once again became the focal point in the conflict.

[DEV POST] Improving The Fitting Experience

The fitting window hasn’t gotten much love since Apocrypha and we really want to address that and make it a powerful and fun tool, move it a bit closer to 3rd party programs like EFT and Pyfa.
We have been looking into features like:
- Allowing pilots to try in the fitting window modules and rigs they own or don’t, to see what effect they have before committing. There are a ton of ideas floating around that could be added to the list, but what would you be interested in seeing that would improve your fitting experience?
– Try before you buy
– Simulating active and overload states of modules, docked or in space. No need to leave the station to see what your hardeners can do.
– More accurate and rich information on attributes in the fitting window.

[DEV BLOG] FanFest 2015 and Speaker Details
Fanfest is just around the corner!
EVE Fanfest 2015, the annual pilgrimage of capsuleers to the beautiful volcanic rock of Iceland to enjoy three full days of epic camaraderie, spacestuff and partying, is only three months away. In 2015, Fanfest is taking place slightly earlier and it coincides with the total solar eclipse on March 20th. Unless you are planning on being in the Faroe Islands, Iceland will be pretty much the best place in the world to experience it.

HERO and PL Scuffle Over V-3
As the war between HERO and PL in Catch heats up. Another major battle has taken place in the strategic system of V-3YG7. The system's IHub allows HERO to maintain it's Jump Bridge network, vital to it's defense of Western Catch.
The HERO Coalition, comprised of the Brave Collective, Test Alliance, Spaceship Samurai, The Explicit Alliance, Nerfed Alliance Go Away, Of Sound Mind and Bloodline., formed up to defend V-3YG7, one of their core systems adjacent to their staging system of GE-8JV, against the aggressing forces of Pandemic Legion, who had reinforced seven HERO systems including MB-NKE, HED-GP, ZXIC-7, WQH-4K, 2J-WJY, U-QVWD.

SOV Updates for January 4th
The SOV warfare is heating up in January. Below is a summary of the major developments in Null SOV over the last few days.
IWANTISK Titan Smash Marred By Controversy
#EVE_NT received a Titan sponsored by IWANTISK.com for the event held today. However, this event might have gone a little different behind the scenes than intended!!
However, the host of the event, Nashh Kadavr formed a defense fleet, consisting of 200+ members flying T3’s and Triage Carriers, which they used to defend the Erebus alive for multiple hours, DDing “enemy” carriers, who came to join the event. Once 19:00 passed, Pilots started to pile into system that got announced, allowing the defensive fleet to just farm kills until the flow of pilots coming in stopped. Then when this happened, the defensive fleet, led by the EVENT HOST, stripped the Expensive fit of the Erebus and then killed it themselves. The host went so far in protecting his own titan that he had even prepared multiple ships in system for his fleet member to fly in case they lost their ships.
IWANTISK.com made a sponsorship deal with #EVE_NT which was worth around 700bil. For promotion purposes, 400bil was already send over to #EVE_NT and so they organised today’s Titan event. The event was planned by the host to happen as described: A Titan would be brought into a random system and at 19:00 they would announce the location. Who ever would kill the titan had to chance to win some more prizes which, if you ask me, sounds like a pretty fun event to attend!
