HERO And PL Clash, PL Wrecks House

As PL and HERO continue to beat each other's heads in, the war just got much more serious. As the timer came out, HERO formed up almost 500 pilots in various ships. At first planning to go with their go-to doctrine of mixed DPS, Ewar, and support fleet, HERO was quickly caught on their back foot by PL.  Who had opted to bring in a "wrecking ball" fleet of mostly Nyx, Aeons, Archons. and mixed subcap support, putting the total PL numbers at around 100 pilots.  Local peaked at over 1000 during the heaviest fighting, as more people piled in.  Pushing TiDi to a peak of 7%.

Inept web hosts, and a battle report

Well, today has been extremely annoying as the host I went with for the new site has been having issues with their servers all day.  This is unacceptable, and I'm changing hosts to one that I know is reliable once I get the data from the hist I need.  In the meantime, I'll post an AAR of the PL/HERO fight in GE-8JV later today.

I'm also really excited to talk about something new that I'm working on.  The site has changed quite a bit on the backend.  Some optimizations to the server and new ideas for features have begun to be implemented.  You guys should also be seeing some slight improvements in reliability and speed already.

The new feature I'm working on primarily is a new way of promoting promo codes for I Want ISK.  I'm currently in the planning stages now, and will talk more about it as work progresses.  Suffice to say, this will be a more interactive and enjoyable way for you all to make some of that dank ISK.

Finally got around to making the IWISK promos page less of an eye sore. Codes are now in an easy to use table.  You can sort by level, and show all the codes at once if need be.  But overall, this will be much easier to use and maintain than the poorly done list I had previously,

New Site Is UP!

I've finished the first bit of work on the site, and it's coming along nicely.   iskmogul.com is now up and running.  I will continue to update the Blogger -based site when I can.  But if you want the newest EVE Online news, check out my new site

So Blogger has run it's course

Over the last week, I've had the majority if the blogs I write on Blogger deleted for being spam.  Despite the fact that there is nothing that violates Blogger ToS on these blogs that I can find.  I suspect it's going to eventually hit all my blogs.  As it appears that Blogger's automated review system has decided that all of them are somehow spam.

As such, I'm working on moving these sites to a self-hosted server.  That way I'll have no issues with this in the future.  The problem here is cost.  I can afford to move it over and pay the monthly hosting cost and domain registration costs.  But I'd like to offset it.  This is a plan I had from the beginning to grow this blog to a level where it made enough money to nullify the cost of writing for the blogs on a more consistent basis.

As such I'd ask you to use the  Need a PLEX? link above.  Please bookmark it and use it if you purchase a plex if you enjoy what I do, so that way I can continue to do it after this change.

I'm going to start with just ISKMogul Adventures to save on effort and cost.  I will continue to use these sites, and if they don't get deleted then I'll just slowly move them over to a new host anyway.  It sucks that this has to happen, but it doesn't appear that it's going to change.

I'll announce the new URL and move the content over in the next couple of days.

Also, .space is an extension I had been considering.  Anyone with thoughts for a new domain please feel free to comment below.

SOV shakeups, alliance leaks, and speculation. . .OH MY!

The past few weeks have been awash with speculation, alliance shuffles, conflict, and panic within the EVE community.  The announced SOV changes make up most of the discussion, with a lot of groups speculating about what will happen to the large coalitions that control most of null sec.

Meta Show Episode 12, a discussion of "Fozziesov"

The recent episode of the Meta Show with Mittani, Laz, Nystrik , and special guest progodlegend was an interesting one.  As expected, the primary topic was discussing the impact of the sov changes for EVE Online.  There are some interesting ideas about how to make null sec more valuable, how to encourage user engagement, and a few ideas to potentially change the way players play in null sec outside of sov warfare.  This is definitely one to watch.

GSF high-sec arm loses 250 Billion ISK

Goonswarm’s high-sec ganking arm, the Ministry of Love, suffered the kind of setback many miners and anti-gankers have long been only able to dream of.  Globby, a member of GoonWaffe [GEWNS] with access to the ship hangars of the Ministry, gathered a list of assets and then subsequently stole them all.  With a total value of nearly 250 Billion ISK he's quite a wealthy pilot now. Globby quickly left GoonWaffe to join Origin. [0RIGN], the central corporation of Black Legion. .

GSF Member Thyger's Excellent "This Is My Year" Video

Thyger of Goonswarm Federation has documented his most recent year in EVE while participating in nullsec PVP in a number of large scale conflicts. He has distilled that time into a very well edited video entitled 'This Is My Year'. Tengus, titans, and Thanatoi can all be seen fleet warping and engaged in combat.

While many players who are involved in such conflicts often have their graphics settings turned down in order to improve performance, this video serves as an impressive reminder as to how good EVE can look nearly 12 years since its release.

EVE 10th Anniversary Symphony

I know that at this point, this is way out of date.  Nonetheless, I've been listening to this repeatedly recently, mostly because the Nullsec music is quite bland in contrast.  And I felt like sharing it for those few EVE players who may not have seen it.  Enjoy!
