This was a pretty clear cut case of overwhelming force from PL simply decimating the HERO defenders. The 180+ strong primarily Tengu and Stealth Bomber fleet formed by PL was clearly better organized as HERO lost many of it's ships to sustained attacks from the Tengu fleet. Which was then further harassed by bomb runs.
The presence of 3 PL Nyx was instrumental in reducing any chances HERO had of scoring meaningful kills. There was even a PL Rorqual, apparently being used a staging ship for subcaps in the fleets.
The largely "kitchen sink" composition of HERO reinforces the idea that this was clearly a fight HERO wanted to use as practice. Despite having more than 300 ships on field, the numerical advantage was nullified by PL. As the last of the HERO forces fled, PL caps and supers mopped up and claimed the system.
With over 300 ships destroyed, it was a rather large loss for HERO. Who despite best efforts have been slowly pushed back by the PL onslaught in recent months. HERO forces were lead by junior FCs, in what seems to be an admission that HERO could not hold out against repeated attacks by PL, they decided to use the fight to allow newer players to get some large scale PVP experience. Which will be invaluable as it was against an enemy which is known for using supers. And are arguably some of the better players in Null.
But as usual, BRAVE and other HERO alliances are not going to give up. As their attitude has been since inception to always fight no matter the odds, they will no doubt bounce back. And a loss today could very well turn into a win tomorrow.
